First Update (opens the story)
Brothers and sisters, as you're aware, Congress remains in active negotiation on the FY2026 continuing resolution. With the current CR set to expire at midnight Friday, NATCA leadership is coordinating directly with FAA Administrator Washington on contingency operations should a shutdown occur.
Immediate Action Items
All facility representatives must complete the following within the next 48 hours:
- Review the attached FAA/NATCA Joint Shutdown Contingency Memorandum
- Schedule a local briefing with your membership
- Update your facility's emergency contact tree in the Hub Members directory
- Identify any members who have outstanding leave requests
"This situation remains fluid. We are in constant communication with the Administrator and with Congressional leadership on both sides of the aisle."
What We Know
Based on the most recent conversations with FAA leadership, air traffic operations will continue under excepted status as they have in previous shutdowns.
